Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services District

For Emergencies, Call 911

The Fallen Leaf Lake Community Services District Board of Directors held its Regular Meeting on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Community Room at 400 Fallen Leaf Rd and via Zoom. The Board covered several key items at this meeting: an IRS tax issue, a proposed county sales tax initiative, and marina/parks updates.

  • Parks & Rec / concessionaire agreement: Board discussed forming a committee to address concerns with the current agreement and gather community feedback, but hasn’t yet decided between a standing or ad hoc committee.
  • IRS tax penalty: GM Ashton reported $229,000 owed in penalties/interest on payroll taxes (the underlying taxes were paid correctly); a COVID-related exception has been applied for that could reduce this by about $63,000.
  • Sales tax initiative: Maia Schneider (Marshall Hospital) and Tim Cordero presented a county-wide 3/8-cent sales tax proposal for emergency services/wildfire prevention, projected to bring ~$12 million over 30 years to the Fire District. The board deferred an endorsement decision until the Labor Day meeting.
  • Marina operations: Luke Johnston (Big Blue Hospitality) reported full operations for the 2026 season, with gross receipts 19.5% ahead of last year; reminded residents of the no-overnight-parking policy.
