Dear Fallen Leaf Lake Community,
The CSD board is seeking your input as we examine our strategy for Parks & Recreation services at Fallen Leaf Lake. As many of you have heard, the CSD has relied on strike team revenue to subsidize the Parks & Recreation budget (by $90K in fiscal 24/25 and $80K in fiscal 25/26), and our concessionaire has reported losing money for the last three years. The board’s goal is to develop a self-sustaining business model for Parks & Recreation going forward. We need a better understanding of the community’s priorities as we look to develop new revenue streams and consider cost-cutting measures.
There are three opportunities for you to share your feedback in the next two weeks:
- Online survey: please take a few minutes to respond by July 31 at bit.ly/2026-FLLPR-Survey
- In person meeting: join us at the Community Center/Old Store on Sunday, July 26 from 1-2:30 pm for an interactive work session and community discussion
- Zoom meeting: join a virtual interactive session on Wednesday, July 29 from 7-8:30 pm at https://bit.ly/FLLCSD-feedback-session-01. Due to the nature of this session, a desktop or laptop computer is best for participating.
The board will share the results of the survey and the two community input sessions in a public workshop on Saturday, August 8 at 10 am. The workshop will be held at the Community Center/Old Store and available via Zoom.
Thank you for participating in this important conversation!
